Mixt Designs × Stephen Bouska “Theirs, Mine and Ours” Stone Sculpture

Theirs, Mine and Ours is a sculptural collaboration between Mixt Designs and stone carver Stephen Bouska, bringing together historic materials, traditional craftsmanship, and contemporary fabrication.

A mason, stonecutter, and carver since 2001, Bouska’s practice spans architectural conservation, historic structures, private estates, and fine art sculpture. Together with Mixt Designs, the work reflects a shared belief in bringing sculpture into everyday life.

The piece was installed at Shop Camino × Design Marin, where Bouska demonstrated his stone-carving process live, offering guests a firsthand look at the craftsmanship behind the work.

“These stones tell a story. The curb stone holds 125 years of history, and the limestone developed seven years of patina exposed to the elements. These are valuable surfaces that can’t be cultivated from a fresh block. When these stones were harvested years ago they were processed by old world craftsmen, mother nature then had her way with them. Finally we put our touches choosing to honor and preserve the processes before us.”
